Parents invest in affordable condo unit for student daughter
Renting for a long time for their children studying in Baguio, parents Marie and Roland Ruaro decided to buy an affordable condo unit for their last child studying in Baguio. Renting for eight thousand a month for a room for their college daughter May Erbizon, they thought it best to invest in a Goshen Land condo unit because it is a place they could proudly claim as their own. "At least, sarili nila,pag-aari nila kasi," said Jane Limet, a partner at Goshen Land who introduced the idea to them. She added that when she was a student, it was difficult renting a room together with other students because of thievery and other relational concerns "Nag-board din ako noon, uso ang nakawan, tapos away-away,"Limet added.
The Ruaros bought a condo unit at North Cambridge in Bakakeng, a project of Goshen Land, which sits right after the property fence of the SLU campus in Bakakeng. Both engineers but now working abroad, they got a good deal at Goshen Land which enables them to afford the condo unit's monthly amortization. Instead of giving away eight thousand a month to a landlady, they invested it instead in a real estate property .They are just paying a monthly payment of P8 ,863.00 for the condo unit at North Cambridge. Even after May finishes college and decides to leave Baguio, she could always have her condo unit rented out for more than the monthly downpayment her parents used to pay.
Earlier, the Ruaros also bought a piece of land from Goshen Land, again ,on an installment basis. Their properties will soon appreciate in value, as real estate prices go up because it is a resource that is limited in supply.***Story Teller
