From failing grade1 to dreaming the life of a businessman and a PMAer:Kleiu Mangaoang,12
Few underpriveleged kids have survived the seemingly cursing plight of living in backbreaking poverty. Its either that they will continue living under the dark pall of hopelessness, passing it off to the generation after them or they will decide to dream living on a higher plane to becoming overcomers..
Kleiu Mangaoang ,now12,definitely belongs to the second league. No, he hasn't earned any stars yet,but he has decided to go west.During a life coaching session with Goshen Land Caring Hands,he presented a vision board totally opposed to his state in life now. He dreams of building skyscrapers, patrolling like a good soldier ,working abroad, providing a house of their own for their family, and having a united, loving family and now going for a line of nine average grade in school.
There were Baguio golfers who teed off proudly wearing their G-strings during cold Baguio mornings but football players clad in G-strings doing the rainbow?
It would be a sight to see.Dubbed the First Mayor Mauricio Domogan Football Cup,it will showcase grassroots football players in Baguio score goals wearing G-strings as their kits paired with football boots and shin guards.
The football cup will be an arena for public school children and other teams to have a competitive football tournament to enhance their character and football skills. The tournament is open to qualified football teams from different age groups, ranging from 8 under to 16under,ladies' teams and men's football teams.
Sponsored by Goshen Land, Baguio United Football Club and the city of Baguio, the football cup will be a month long football tournament in July which will be played every weekend at the Melvin Jones Football Field, Burnham Park and the Athletic Bowl. The tournament will open on July 2 with a program and a torch relay at the Melvin Jones.Onsite registration will start at 7:30 in the morning, July 2.For more details and information, interested teams can call Coach Homer Alinsug,BUFC, at
